At FixiPhoneScreen.co.uk, we do our best to limit our impact on the environment, and like to recycle and reuse things as much as we possibly can. Luckily, this seems to be a growing trend in the world of iPhone accessories, and we’ve had fun this week hunting out some really fabulous upcycled products, designed to do everything, from keeping your iPhone safe to turning it into an entertainment centre.
1. iPhone Docks
We’re huge photography fans here at the FixiPhoneScreen.co.uk office, so when we stumbled across the fantastic Laboratorio Altieri, we felt we had to share the details. Roberto Altieri began the venture when he combined his love of photography with his interest in helping the environment, and now turns broken vintage film cameras into quirky iPhone docking stations, before selling them on Etsy. Handmade and upcycled – what’s not to love?
2. iPhone Skins
For something really different, head to the Station Supply Co., a company which takes old and damaged fire hoses and life rafts, and turns them into incredible iPhone skins. We’re particularly fond of the retro colours and letterpress text, and the unique element that goes with every single version.
3. iPhone Cases
Accessories company Elvis and Kresse also make use of vintage fire hoses to construct their iPhone cases, but any similarities to the Station Supply Co. ends there. Available in a choice of three classic colours; red, blue and yellow, the design is sleek and modern, and each case is lined with reclaimed parachute silk.
4. iPhone Stands and Docks
If you favour vintage and rustic themes in your home, chances are the majority of iPhone stands and docks on the market aren’t what you’re looking for at all. If you prefer natural wood to shiny plastic, look no further than Docksmith, who sell a wide range of driftwood docking stations, all collected on the coast of Maine in the US, and finished in the Docksmith studios.
